John Oak Dalton
John Oak Dalton is Director of Communications and Marketing at Indiana University East. John has worked in broadcasting, educational media, and information technology for more than twenty years, with previous stops at WXOW-TV, WIPB-TV, Whitewater Community Television, and Ball State University. He has taught media writing and video production as an adjunct faculty at Ball State University and Indiana University East.
He holds a BS in Telecommunications and an MS in Information and Communication Sciences from Ball State University. While attending Ball State, he was awarded a David Letterman Telecommunications Scholarship.
Dalton has been involved in grassroots media for many years, teaching workshops and being a judge for film festivals in Rapid City (South Dakota), Palatine (Illinois), Richmond and Indianapolis (Indiana). He has served as a Media Grants Advisory Panelist for the Indiana Arts Commission.
Dalton most recently presented on “Current Technology Tools” in the Community Media Summit at the Central States Alliance for Community Media.
